The kind, pleasant service made me feel so welcome in Brazil. My stay felt luxurious, like I was truly on vacation in paradise. I'll tell all my American friends about this unforgettable trip, and I'm already planning to return many times.

The view from our top-floor room was one of the best parts of our eight-day stay in Morro de São Paulo. The hotel seems newly built, the mattress was comfortable, and the location made it easy to get to both the town center and the beaches. But there were several things that could have been better. The shower flow was very weak, though I can't say whether being on the top floor caused it. The bedding was consistently clean, but on two occasions the room floor seemed poorly cleaned, based on how it felt underfoot and the smell afterward. We also found sand in the shower stall after housekeeping. At check-in we were told we could bring our mini-sized pet to breakfast as long as it stayed away from the buffet. We did that on the first morning, keeping it on our lap. On the second day, someone who said they were the manager approached us sharply after we sat down and told us to leave with the pet. Being told this in front of other guests was embarrassing. We felt we had done something wrong even though we followed the original instructions. They offered to let us eat in our room, but our pet has trouble being alone in unfamiliar places. Afterward, we felt uncomfortable in the breakfast area for the rest of the stay. Breakfast was okay and varied a little each day, though the savory items didn't seem very fresh. Fruit, cold cuts, and juice were left unrefrigerated on the buffet, which caught our attention. Guests on the upper floors also have many steps to climb with their bags. We know there are no elevators on the island, but arriving in Morro can be tiring, especially after coming from Salvador, so help carrying luggage to the room would be welcome. The hotel has positives, but service, cleaning, and organization could improve a lot.

The air conditioning problem below was fully fixed during our stay, and we were very satisfied with the attention we received. They gave us a bottle of wine and cachaça as an apology. The daytime receptionist deserves praise for resolving it and being kind. Breakfast was delicious every day. ....................................................... We arrived Friday (6/1/26) and had a very good welcome at reception, but the AC trouble kept happening. An hour after we got to the room, it started dripping. We went out to dinner, and when we came back they said the technician had fixed it. It dripped again in the morning. We went to the beach, and on returning were told it had been fixed, but around 18:30 it started dripping again and left almost the whole room wet. My husband went to reception, and two men came to the room and did something about it. Today, while we were at the beach, they were supposed to put in a drain hose. When we got back, they said the AC wasn't cooling. You've got to be kidding! They didn't even provide a fan. We're on the third floor, access is only by stairs, and communication is only through WhatsApp. I sent a message asking for a fan at 16:44 and still hadn't even gotten a reply. There are only two rooms with balconies, and the other one is occupied. We're paying extra for such poor service?

We stayed at this hotel for seven days. The room was fairly good but small; since we hardly spent time there, that didn't affect us. The location was excellent. What made things unpleasant was the daytime receptionist. When we complained that there were no beach towels available, even to rent, she handled it terribly, acting rude, ill-mannered, and out of control. A receptionist should know how to respond to a guest complaint. For six days we had to pass her with a sour expression, and she barely returned our good mornings. We understood from a conversation that the manager was her husband, so there didn't seem to be a way to take the complaint further. The receptionist working 2pm to 10pm was lovely, always smiling and attentive. She'd greet us with a cheerful good afternoon as we came down the stairs, and deserves recognition for how she treated us and our friends. The night staff were also fine, no complaints. Breakfast was reasonable, but the kitchen staff stopped replenishing bread and eggs, the basics, two hours before closing, along with other items, and would say they were gone. This happened today too, though the receptionist pointed out there was bread, and the kitchen worker restocked it afterward. Breakfast ends at 10am, and it was only 8am. We got the impression it wasn't better because of the kitchen staff, or perhaps they were just following orders. Overall the hotel is good, but the staff could use some adjustment or training.

Hotel Caita is far too expensive for what it is and doesn't have the minimum setup for a stay. The space is tiny, there's no elevator or privacy, and the rooms have neither security nor room to move. Breakfast is miserable, the power sometimes goes out, and the internet never works. Staff can't solve anything. I wouldn't recommend this awful hotel to anyone, especially couples with children.
