The location is great, the rooms and bathrooms were clean and smelled fresh, and the team were attentive and really helpful.

The inn is just a few steps from Segunda Praia, which is a great location. But the service left a lot to be desired. When I arrived, I was told the minibar had been sent for maintenance. Later, when I came back from the beach, it had been installed without anyone telling me they’d be entering my room, while all my personal belongings were still inside. I said I was uncomfortable with that, but nobody apologized or acknowledged the mistake. Later, they said that staff enter rooms without notice at all hotels. That’s not an acceptable explanation. I’ve stayed in dozens of places, and they all offer some way to signal privacy, such as a “do not disturb” sign. There’s even a sign in the inn’s own room saying they aren’t responsible for things left there, which makes entering without my consent even more serious. I knew breakfast wasn’t included, but I think it’s still worth mentioning what was provided: just a coffee maker and sandwich press in the room. That may work for some people, but it’s a long way from a traditional breakfast, especially at a place that aims to offer comfort. The air conditioning also couldn’t cool the room properly. When I brought it up, I was told maybe I wasn’t used to the heat in Morro de São Paulo. I’m from Rio and know heat very well. The issue is technical: the unit needs to be suited to the size of the room, and management should assess that. The most worrying response from management came when they tried to explain away the problems I’d raised. They said maybe, because we were from Rio de Janeiro, we’d come in afraid of things that happen there but not here. That was prejudiced, irrelevant, and completely unnecessary. It dismissed a real discomfort that was entirely justified. Negative reviews aren’t always pleasant, but they help future guests make an informed choice. I sincerely hope this experience leads to improvement, rather than being met with the irony and disdain I unfortunately encountered.

Getting there was easy: they sent us a video, and there are signs along the beach road showing where to turn. The location couldn’t be better, just steps from the second beach. The inn is beautiful and spacious, with very comfortable rooms, impeccable cleanliness, and delicious, complete breakfasts. The service and attention were excellent. We loved our stay and highly recommend it!

I paid 300 reais a night expecting to relax, but that didn’t happen, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place. I’d asked beforehand about noise, and was told it was only possible to hear something from the street during a party. That wasn’t true: I could hear footsteps, conversations, and even the toilet flushing in another room. The breakfast wasn’t good enough for the nightly rate either. The juice was awful, and they left us just one towel, with no replacement during the four days I stayed. When I arrived, the shower was dripping nonstop. I told a woman about it and also asked her to put away a cake I’d ordered while I was out on a tour. She sent me the wrong audio message, saying I was being a pain, even though I’d only informed her. A man who said he was the owner came to look, but the shower kept dripping.
