Pousada Caminho da Praia

I often visit Morro de S. Paulo-Ba and have stayed at several inns and hostels on the island, but I always make a point of coming back to Caminho da Praia. It’s well located and, though simple, offers more than it promises. The place feels very family-friendly, peaceful, respectful, and very clean. Breakfast has a tasty, varied menu, and the staff are polite. D. Cida, the owner, and the current management both give guests an outstanding welcome, warm, courteous, and attentive. If you like a personal, welcoming feel, I highly recommend it.

For the lower prices available in Morro de São Paulo, I think this is a good budget option. It’s close to everything, on the access road to beaches 1, 2, and 3. The breakfast is good and about what you’d expect. The place is reasonable for the price, with the basics: air conditioning, a hot shower, and a minibar. It’s worth checking which rooms are available, since some are nicer than others.

I was welcomed very warmly, and this is just my impression from the first day. The pool area is a great spot to unwind after the beach. My triple room has a queen bed and a single bed, both comfortable. The cleaning is excellent, the air conditioner is new and works very well, and the minibar is brand new. The bathroom also feels quite modern.

The breakfast was included, with cakes, French and homemade bread, ham and cheese in generous supply, tea, coffee, milk, juices, fruit, pie, and eggs. They change the towels and sheets every two days. We paid $80 in cash per night in low season for a room with a balcony. A good inn, recommended!
