Pousada Halai

One of the best pousadas I've stayed at. Breakfast was very good, with plenty of variety, and Alessandra, the owner, and Tayane were wonderful. The room was clean and always smelled fresh, and they greeted us with a smile. We loved it. Since we arrived in Gamboa, we didn't pay the Morro de São Paulo fee. The route to the pousada is flat, with no hills to climb carrying luggage, and Gamboa has good facilities. You can get to Morro easily by boat or along the beach. There's also a sea view while you have breakfast.

Alessandra and Tayane made us feel at home from the moment they welcomed us. The view is wonderful, and the atmosphere is pleasant and peaceful. The pets are adorable, affectionate, and very well cared for. It's also easy to get to central Gamboa and the beach. Such a lovely stay! 🌅🐾💛

We were looked after so well from the moment we booked until the end of our stay. Alessandra, who owns Pousada Halai, welcomed us warmly and explained the guesthouse, local area, and tours. Getting there along the beach walkway was easy, and it’s close to the beach in Gamboa do Morro. Our room, Tubatinga, was huge, cozy, clean, and had an amazing sea view. The whole place is thoughtfully planned and cared for. Breakfast changed each day, with different fruits and plenty of other items. Alessandra and Taiane cooked and served it themselves, always smiling and ready to help. Tina kept the rooms spotless, and her pizza dough and cakes were delicious. Pepita the little dog and the friendly cats were lovely mascots, too. A wonderful stay, and I’d recommend it wholeheartedly.

The location made getting around easy: the beach is right across from the pousada, and the market, town center, and ferry terminal are nearby. The terminal is about a 10-minute walk. Alessandra is lovely and really tries to make you feel at home. She gave us tips and helped us figure out how to see the island. The room was spacious, bright, and clean, and breakfast was a highlight, with fresh juice and fruit, quiches, little cakes, and tapioca. Everything was fresh, with birds singing nearby. I loved staying here and hope to come back soon.
