Pousada Guria Da Bahia

The pousada is in an excellent location. Breakfast was the part I disliked, and not just because it was served at another pousada. We felt rushed the whole time because the cook and a man I think was the other pousada’s owner kept asking whether we’d finished. One day, a woman took my plate and only asked afterward if we were done. We only ate what was already on our table, not the shared food served at another table. I thought it was awful, and saw them do the same to other people. Guria da Bahia is good, but they should think about whether serving breakfast at the pousada next door is worth it.

The location is perfect, and the service was okay, though it needs improvement before I’d call it good. The room’s TV also needs to be mounted better, since where it is now makes it hard to watch while lying down. My main complaint is breakfast: it’s served at another pousada, so you have to go there, and there’s very little variety. The photo on the site was misleading and looked completely different from what I saw. I really didn’t like the breakfast at all. Location is the only thing I’d rate very highly.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, the location was great, and the people were attentive and helpful. It’s good value for money, too. Some months ago, breakfast moved to this same pousada, so you no longer have to go somewhere else for it. It’s a great breakfast, and the service was excellent. I definitely recommend it.

There’s a full view of Morro, and the place feels airy and relaxed. They leave you in peace and don’t bother you. Breakfast had a good amount of variety. I just didn’t like how cold some of the receptionists were with guests.
