The staff were super friendly, but unfortunately the rooms were full of mosquitoes.

Really nice people and a great place. The staff couldn't have been friendlier.

I paid around 1,300 reais per night because it was New Year’s high season. With every hotel and pousada full, we had no choice but to stay, even though we were completely unhappy with the place. The Wi-Fi barely worked, which was especially frustrating since there is practically no mobile signal on the island. Service itself wasn't bad, the staff were polite, and the homemade bread was tasty, though breakfast had very few options. The access looked easy and close on the map, but in reality it was extremely difficult: steep, poorly maintained stairs, stretches of trail, and almost no lighting. At night it was dark and frightening, especially for women alone. The pousada seemed abandoned, with no basic upkeep. Doors and windows were in terrible shape; in my bathroom, part of the window was literally held together with adhesive tape. The minibar was badly rusted. Some windows had no curtains, so I had to hang sarongs to keep the early morning light out of my face. There were spider webs in several places, and the vegetation seemed to have taken over the structure. The insects were beyond unacceptable. A frog got into my bathroom three times. In a friend's room there was a huge spider, and beetles and other insects were always around. This goes well beyond a rustic feel, it showed a lack of care and hygiene. Online, the place looked rustic and even promising, but it was neglected and falling apart in person. The whole experience was frustrating, and the price felt like a real rip-off. I wouldn’t go back even for free, and I don’t recommend it to anyone.

Terrible! The place is pretty, and the woman who helped me was friendly, but it’s old and neglected, with no maintenance. They advertised morning yoga, but there wasn’t a teacher or any guests there for it. It’s far away, hard to reach, unlit at night and nowhere near anything. I wouldn’t recommend it to a woman travelling alone. Worst of all, it was dirty and the towels smelled bad. I couldn’t stay, even though I’d paid for five days. Sol, the owner, refused to refund anything, not even half, and said I should have chosen another pousada if I wanted luxury. Not professional at all.
