Pousada Sampa no Morro

This was a very disappointing stay. I booked based on a listing for a spacious double room with a private bathroom and bathtub, a terrace, and a sea view. What I was first given was nothing like that: a tiny cubicle with a child's bunk bed, right beside reception. The only window looked straight into reception, so there was no privacy. Check-in and checkout conversations could be heard all day and night, and the room clearly wasn't designed for guests. I kept pushing until they moved me, but that only happened after two days. By then, I'd lost a significant part of my time on the island, including the main excursion I'd planned. The replacement room had its own issues. The bathroom's glass door was much too narrow, making it hard to get through, and the room door key didn't work properly from the inside, which felt uncomfortable and unsafe. The one positive was the person who helped me on WhatsApp, probably the manager, who tried to reduce the trouble as much as possible. Still, that doesn't make up for the serious gap between what was advertised and what I actually got. I don't recommend it.

I loved it! The inn is just a few steps from the beach, so the location is great. The owner and staff are really friendly and polite, and the breakfast is wonderful. It's very comfortable and good value for the price. I enjoyed my stay and would come back again.

I've been visiting Morro for more than eight years, but this was my first stay at Sampa. The owners, a Chilean-Bahian couple, were outstanding, and the rates were very reasonable. The inn is in a strategic spot, quiet and private, while the island's main bars are just 50 meters away on the second beach. Service was excellent. My room was comfortable and had air conditioning, TV, and Wi-Fi. The breakfast buffet was unbeatable, with plenty of sweet and savory options. A perfect 10 out of 10. I highly recommend staying here under the new owners.
