Terrible stay. We had to leave before the scheduled time. The staircase was awful and access was difficult. Breakfast was really poor, the pool was dirty, the bathroom smelled bad, and the staff service was zero.

The room was clean and tidy, the air conditioning worked, the shower had hot water, and the Wi-Fi was okay. Still, Morro de São Paulo is tiring, and like other hotels here, this one has stairs up to the rooms. Breakfast ran from 8 to 9, which felt like too short a window, and it was modest with few choices, though okay. The pool looked dirty, and we didn't feel comfortable getting in. Staff gave us information that didn't match the booking contract: Booking.com said checkout was at 12, but they told us 11. We left at 12 anyway, since we were entitled to. The pousada was okay, but I wouldn't return.

The bed was comfortable, there was a minibar in the room, the air conditioning cooled well, and it wasn't noisy. But there were a lot of problems. The pousada is in a terrible spot halfway up a huge staircase, and people were using drugs at the corner by the bottom of the stairs at night. There was no receptionist when we arrived. The pool was dirty, and they said they'd clean it but didn't. A water outage caused trouble, and there wasn't much sense of security. The bathroom was tiny, the shower and tap had weak flow, and the room wasn't very functional. The glass doors meant people could see inside; some had curtains, but the room's sound insulation was compromised. Communication was difficult, mostly over WhatsApp, where replies took a long time. To get anything sorted, we had to go down the stairs and try to find a staff member. We were told breakfast was from 8 to 10, but on Sunday they were rude and wanted us to arrive at 6:30 without giving us any notice beforehand. The breakfast had spoiled fruit and insects crawling among the food.

The air conditioning worked, and the price was low. That was about the only good part of a weekend that turned into a nightmare. The pousada is far from the center, halfway up a huge staircase, and the location is awful. There was nobody at reception when I arrived, and I waited almost 30 minutes for someone to show up. The rooms had no privacy: the glass doors let sound through. The bathrooms were tiny, so cramped that even using the toilet gave me leg cramps. I had no water at night, and the pool stayed dirty despite being told it would be cleaned. Communication was hard. Nobody was at reception, WhatsApp replies took ages, and the staff acted like helping was a favor. They were friendly at first, but by the second day it felt like they wanted us gone. They brought up checkout while we were having breakfast, even though we already knew the checkout time, and it felt like they were practically kicking us out. We were told breakfast was from 8 to 10, but then they wanted us there at 6:30, which was humiliating. The room TVs had no signal. We handed in our keys so the room could be cleaned; when I came back that night, the keys were left at reception with nobody there and the gate open. It's low enough for anyone to jump over. We were followed on the way back to the pousada one night, where people were using drugs at the bottom of the stairs. Thankfully, nothing happened.
