Estalagem Tronador

Mariana and her family were so welcoming 😊, and the staff were attentive and always available. Our room had a huge window looking out at the araucaria trees, a great bed, and really warm blankets. The place itself is peaceful and quiet, with a lovely farm-style breakfast: some things, like the yogurt and fresh cheese, are made there, alongside jams, dulce de leche, and the essential pão de queijo. It calms your mind, body, and soul. Already planning another visit 💕.

I missed having food options at the property, but we ordered delivery and they provided everything we needed for our meal. The place is lovely, quiet, simple, and charming, with a good breakfast and a chance to disconnect in nature. From booking through the end of our stay, we were treated so well. Gustavo, Felipe, and Luísa were very attentive, as was everyone else. Luísa even made us coffee in the afternoon. That really makes a difference. I recommend it and would love to return!

The breakfast at Estalagem Tronador was delicious, with homemade cheese, yogurt, and jams that felt especially thoughtful and genuine. The bed and pillow made it easy to rest deeply, and the night sky was especially full of stars, the kind that makes you stop, breathe, and think about life. It’s a rare place where you understand what silence can feel like. It isn’t just the absence of noise, but a deep calm all around you. A retreat for anyone wanting to slow down and reconnect.

I stayed in the Paiol chalet, and the view of the lake at both sunrise and sunset was incredible. The place is spacious, with a whirlpool tub, fireplace, porch, and double shower. Breakfast made by the inn’s team was delicious and had lots of choices. The staff were helpful, too. I arrived in the middle of the night and still got all the assistance I needed. It’s a wonderful, peaceful place surrounded by nature, with birds and wind moving through the trees. One practical note: I wouldn’t suggest bringing a lowered car, since the dirt road has quite a few potholes. We rented a T-Cross and had no trouble. I admit that if I’d checked the road conditions beforehand, I might not have gone and would have missed this little paradise, so don’t let that put you off. The Wi-Fi is fast enough for working from home. We were there to rest, so we skipped the trails and activities and only went into Monte Verde to have lunch and walk around a bit. My wife and I will definitely be back.
