Sítio Mandaçaia

The quiet was what we loved most. All day, we heard birds, monkeys, and the family's very gentle dogs. The property is reached by a dirt road, but the drive was easy, and it's only 20 minutes from downtown Monte Verde. For the peace and warm welcome, it was well worth staying here. It really feels like paradise. Fabiana was thoughtful from the start. She messaged us on WhatsApp to ask if we wanted anything special, emailed us the best route, and offered afternoon coffee when we arrived hungry at 4 p.m. It was practically a feast: delicious homemade bread, great cheese, freshly picked lemongrass tea, and amazing jam. We liked it so much I wanted to take some home as a gift. The chalet was spotless, smelled fresh, and looked beautiful inside and out, with lovely decor. We didn't need the fireplace because the night wasn't very cold, but it was ready to use. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the shower was hot, which matters to me. The thick face and bath towels actually dried well, and the handmade soap was a lovely touch. There was water in a clay jug, which Fabiana said came straight from the spring. Dinner was delicious, too. We ordered caldo verde, served with fried sausage and cheese, and there was plenty of it. Breakfast was just as good, with incredibly sweet fruit, a wonderful cake made from scratch, excellent pão de queijo, and that red berry jam with cheese again. The chalet has a TV and reliable Wi-Fi, plus a sofa, a table, a bedside table, and plenty of room to unpack, which I find useful. Fabiana, her husband, and their two children were all very friendly. Don't hesitate if the price seems high. This place is worth what we paid.

We were treated so well from the time we left home through our arrival and departure. The owners, fabi and thiago, were incredibly helpful and friendly. They gave us tips on places and restaurants and helped us with directions before we arrived. The breakfast was lovely, with fruit grown right there, and they gave us a jar of red berry jam as a gift. If you're looking for peace, nature, and a chance to relax, this is a great option. We'll definitely return.

I stayed at Sio Mandaçaia this weekend and wish I could give it more than five stars. The owners gave us a fantastic welcome, and the house was clean, cozy, and quiet. Breakfast was wonderful, too. I'm grateful for the days we spent at the property. The road is dirt, and it's about 30 minutes from Monte Verde, but that really didn't matter.

Fabiana, the owner, made us feel very welcome. The accommodation was wonderful, with an incredible view, and the breakfast was simple, delicious, and always fresh. We found the road to MV pretty rough. If you can, rent a 4x4.
