Pousada Sky

The view from Pousada Sky is lovely, and it’s one of the few inns with views on both sides of the city. It’s up on Morro do Elefante, surrounded by birds and nature. Kids have toys to play with, and there are large patios. The parakeets woke me on my veranda every day, and I loved it. The themed chalets have fireplaces. If they aren’t on, just ask at reception to have them lit. There are fireplaces in the game rooms too. It’s a delight to bring a guitar and play by the fire, take beautiful photos, or share a good bottle of wine with friends. The breakfast is very good, and the service at Pousada Sky was great. I’ve stayed at other good inns in Campos, including Siena in the city center, Pousada do Conde, and a few others near downtown. This time I wanted somewhere close to town but also near nature, so I could have both. The road to the inn is dirt for less than five minutes, but it really isn’t that bad. If all goes well and God allows, I’ll definitely come back.

It might look far from the center, but taking Av. Gastão Vidigal and then Av. Castelo Branco gives you easy access. Be careful using GPS to find the inn: the city has three streets with the same name, and it could send you on an unplanned adventure. The views are among the prettiest in the region, and the price is great for what you get. The rooms are simple and cosy, without much luxury or fuss. Staff were friendly and helpful, offering local tips and directions to the inn. Breakfast covers the basics, including bread, cake, fruit, cold cuts, scrambled eggs, coffee, milk, yogurt, and juice. We had a very positive stay.

The rooms with balconies have a lovely view, and the room and bathroom were clean. The furniture is old-fashioned, but nothing was falling apart, and the TV was good. Breakfast was pleasant, and the service was great. Since it’s high up on the mountain, it gets pretty cold, so be prepared. They provide two blankets, but I brought another one. It’s a good location if you have a car. On foot, there’s no chance. You drive on a stretch of dirt road, but it’s nothing much, like going to a country property.

The garden and mountain views are beautiful. The view alone made the stay worthwhile, and I’m even thinking of coming back. The inn is good overall, though it could use some renovations. The rooms are simple but comfortable and clean, breakfast is tasty and plentiful, and the staff are kind and friendly. For the price, it worked well for our stay.
