Hotel Toriba

The live piano music and singing during dinner give Toriba a distinctive feel compared with the other Hotels in Campos do Jordao, bringing art, culture, class, and something unique to the experience. We also had excellent food and a lovely view at the recently added Bonanza Grill, and the new Culinary School was a lot of fun. Toriba has once again exceeded our expectations for hospitality, service, and gastronomy. It made our vacation very pleasant, the best! Congratulations to management on what they’ve accomplished. The outdoor grounds are what make this hotel shine, with plenty of wooded trails for walking or running and lots of supervised activities for kids aged 3 and up. My daughters, who are 3 and 8, loved it. Inside, the old building keeps its vintage look while the facilities feel modern, clean, and comfortable. The room and modern bathroom were spacious, and the shower was amazing for both pressure and temperature. Breakfast, Brazilian style, was above average. The large restaurant has a limited menu, though the food is good quality.

The grounds are beautifully kept, with lots of greenery, paths for strolling, and scenery well worth taking in. There’s also a tennis court, a large swimming pool with a separate kids' pool, and a good-sized hot tub and sauna near the main building, with a pool-side bar. Food is excellent, with good choices at meals and breakfast, and there’s a good wine list. The restaurant seating is comfortable. Rooms in the main building are tastefully furnished and very comfortable. The hotel also has a cozy sitting room with a fireplace and frescoes, plus a smaller, well-appointed reading room. Staff are very polite and helpful. Prices are high, but justifiably so.

The facilities are great, and the activities for kids are amazing. It’s a great hotel with great service. The chalet parking was frustrating, though: someone parked across two spots, including ours, with just one car. We told management, but nothing came of it.
