Villa Dolce Amore - Boutique Hotel

My experience was awful. We paid far more than we'd ever paid before for a suite with a bathtub and panoramic view, but the room only looked nice in the photos. The facilities were poor. There was no window, and the shower kept dripping all night, which made it hard to sleep. The water heats through a mixer, but if you turn on the shower, the other tap won't heat if you then try to fill the bathtub. There was no disposable shower cap, the sink water didn't get hot, and the bathroom was terrible. I found a spiderweb by the foot of the bed. We paid for decorations and got a handful of artificial rose petals. The pool was empty and under renovation, and nobody warned us it wasn't operating. Security was lacking too. Reception closes after 10 p.m., and the gate isn't automatic and is left merely shut, so if you arrive after that, perhaps in the rain, you have to get out of the car to open and close it. The rules say there's a quiet-hours policy, but during our stay the couple next door got up shouting and swearing during an argument, then made a lot of noise again at night. Their TV was so loud we couldn't hear ours. We sent several messages after 10 p.m. and got no help. Whatever happens after that time, you're on your own. Breakfast was cold and bad. It really was a terrible stay, and I don't recommend it. Look for a more affordable pousada, where you'll get much better service. After all that, they still asked me to leave a review. Here it is.

On the 21st, my partner and I booked through Booking and drove more than three hours from Osasco to Campos do Jordão. We chose a pousada that advertised a pool as one of its amenities. When we got there, the pool was empty, without water, and out of service. The attendant confirmed it wasn't working. That's misleading advertising. We told them we wouldn't stay, and the attendant promised our refund would be issued that day. It's now the 3rd, more than 10 days later, and the issue still hasn't been resolved. Messages go unanswered. On calls, the person stays silent, and when they do reply, all they say is to wait. Worse, they refunded someone with a name I don't know, then admitted the mistake and told me to wait again. When I said I'd get a lawyer, they replied, “Do what you think is best.” I have recordings and documentation of everything, including messages, calls, the refund promise, and the pousada's listing. I'm posting this to warn others. Nobody should have to travel, lose time and money, and then be treated with such disregard.

The breakfast was lovely, and the inn feels carefully looked after, with tasteful decor and little details that make it comfortable. The rooms are incredible too. At sunrise, the view looks almost like a “square of God,” it’s so beautiful. Jonathan welcomed us warmly when we arrived and took the time to show us around. My wife and I had an unforgettable stay. We’d absolutely recommend it and hope to come back soon.
