Pousada Retiro das Caravelas

Family-friendly.

The staff even took care of a special request for my friend, who’s breastfeeding and allergic to milk. Breakfast was fantastic for the kids, and the rooms were pleasant. It’s a lovely place to spend time with family, and the hospitality was great. We had an amazing stay and will come back. Congratulations to the team!

The inn is simple, but clean and well cared for, with spacious rooms and very good value for money. The owners are there and are warm, attentive hosts. The owner knows the area well and shared helpful tips about outings and other local information. We had a great stay and plan to return.

I haven’t had the chance to stay at the inn yet, but they handled my cancellation with remarkable understanding. I had a Booking reservation for Carnival, February 14-17, in my husband Miguel A C E’s name, then had to cancel at the last minute because of a medical emergency with my 85-year-old mother. They understood and didn’t charge a cancellation fee. My autistic son had been so excited to visit, and it can be difficult to help him give up on a place he’s looking forward to. I hope to contact them and stay there with my family on a holiday when I get the chance. I’m grateful for their understanding, and hope to see them soon.
