The staff are lovely and welcoming, which made our stay while visiting Gramado & Canela wonderful. Schmitt Haus is a beautiful, peaceful spot surrounded by nature.

The estalagem is huge, full of nature, and feels safe. I highly recommend it. The host was an incredible person and very kind to me. He speaks English, Portuguese, and a little Spanish.

The breakfast saved us from going hungry, and the scenery really was beautiful. But the pousada had no heating, either in the chalet or the restaurant, and I’ve never been so cold. The dinner was awful, even though we were told it would be prepared by a renowned chef. Be ready for food trouble if you choose to eat dinner at the pousada, and go in summer. The cold in that chalet was honestly unbelievable. I’m from POA and go to Gramado every winter, and this was my worst experience.

The breakfast is worth adding. It’s made fresh to order, with everything fresh and prepared just for you. Vinícios made us feel welcome right away, he was so friendly and attentive that we felt completely at ease. The inn is a lovely place to unwind in nature, away from the bustle of Gramado, and it’s good for kids too, with a nice lawn and playground. There are also two very gentle little dogs. We had an excellent stay, highly recommend it!
