We came with a group of friends and chose the house because it was advertised as having a heated pool. There was no heating system at all, the caretaker told us, so that was a huge disappointment. We had children with us, which is why the heating mattered so much. I can’t recommend the place, especially since we found what it offers elsewhere for a much better price.

Casa Lago de Furnas is right by the reservoir, with beautiful scenery and sunsets. The rooms are comfortable, and there’s a pool, barbecue area, and a great breakfast with lots of options. We were able to have parties without worrying about the neighbors, so it can be lively as well as relaxing. We didn’t book lunch, so I can’t rate that, though the rice they made for our barbecue was good enough to earn that fifth star. I’m not sure what the accommodation-only price is, but it seemed very good. Great service too!
