Pousada Escarpas

I won’t be coming back. The pool is quite small, and about four couples already make it feel crowded. The photos make it look a little bigger. The price was somewhat lower than others, but after everything below, it wasn’t worth it. The place is pretty, well cared for, and the service was great, but it’s far from the central area. Forget walking to shops. There isn’t even a little market nearby, just a tour departure point. They also don’t sell anything there, so if you want a drink or something to eat, you’re out of luck. When I arrived, I saw a sign saying no sound of any kind. I understand not wanting guests to play music, but why not have some music of their own? They should explain the rule in the listing or at least before taking the deposit. If I’d known, I wouldn’t have gone. I was there during Carnival, and going to the pool with no music at all got boring after a while. Several couples, including us, felt uncomfortable. It felt like being at a religious retreat, and we didn’t feel like staying there. A speaker or two playing something quietly wouldn’t hurt anyone. They should think about that, or tell guests before they book that music isn’t allowed.

We were lucky to celebrate my dear father-in-law’s 80th birthday at Pousada Escarpas in Ponta do Sol in Capitólio, and it was spectacular. I was there with 52 great friends, and the whole group praised the facilities, the owners, and the staff. The welcome and help we received went well beyond what you’d expect professionally. Patrícia and Leilamilton made us feel completely at home, with such warm, attentive, generous care. The inn is beautiful, comfortable, spotless, and cozy, with a lovely smell and a breathtaking view. It’s a fantastic place for families. Renata and her son Luis greeted us each morning with a cheerful hello and a beautiful, plentiful, delicious breakfast. Thank you both for all your help and affection. If I had to score it from 0 to 10, the inn gets 11, Patrícia and Leilamilton get 11, and Renata and Luis get 11. My only downside was not being able to stay longer because of work. God willing, I’ll be back soon. Thanks to everyone at the inn, and a big hug from all 52 guests!

Patricia and Leilamilton are fantastic. They made us feel really comfortable, and my family and I felt right at home. Thanks for the warm welcome. Breakfast was wonderful and starts at 8:00, which worked perfectly since I was there to relax.
