Casa Grande Pousada Hotel

The location is good.

The room I booked for two was downstairs. It was small but clean and cozy, with a great bathroom. Breakfast had plenty to choose from, though a few rolls were hard and the packaged juice was really bad. The pool was cloudy and greasy both days I was there. Even in the heat, I couldn't bring myself to get in.

The good parts were the location near the center and a very good breakfast. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. It's very old, the pool was dirty, and my room smelled musty. They don't even provide shampoo and conditioner. The corridor is very dark, and there's no bathroom outside. The pool isn't private, either. Other guests made a lot of noise in the early morning, and the receptionist didn't ask them to stop until we complained. He hadn't paid attention to it before that.

This is an old mansion with no luxury or special comfort, and I thought it was expensive for what you get. There's no air conditioning, and the window between the room and reception doesn't lock. The place has some mold, though the TV works well. Breakfast is self-service, with a decent number of options for such a simple place.
