Cantinho da Beth

The rooms were clean and the breakfast was good, and the location worked really well. Still, I left very unhappy with how the shower problem was handled. I was staying at Casa da Beth before a trip to Abrolhos. After arriving tired, I started a shower that began fine but broke halfway through, so I had to finish in cold water. My father still needed to shower. Beth offered the shared bathroom, but we had chosen a suite for privacy, so I asked to move rooms. She said that would cost extra. I explained that I wasn't asking to move by choice, but because the shower had failed. I wasn't satisfied with her response. She didn't apologize or offer a room change herself, and seemed to treat my concern as fussiness. In the end, she let me move without an extra charge, but still didn't see it as poor service. I wouldn't stay there again. I gave four stars because I know low ratings can affect a business. The place could use more professionalism and courtesy.

I booked two nights at this inn through Booking.com on December 13 and paid in advance. Since I was still 100 km away, I called to ask how late we could check in. Sra. Roberta surprisingly told me she was closing because there were no rooms left. When I asked what we should do, she said she would cancel my reservation, since I couldn't cancel without paying for nights they had no availability for. Later, I messaged her on WhatsApp because I needed the cancellation before I could book somewhere else. She said she couldn't get into the app but that I shouldn't worry, she'd cancel when she could. Only this morning at 8:29 did I get a Booking message saying she hadn't managed to cancel, would mark us as a no-show, and would ask the finance department when she could refund me. A few minutes later she asked if I was coming today. This was careless and showed a real lack of preparation and commitment. I didn't skip the reservation by choice. I was told there was no room, even though nonrefundable bookings were still being sold in the app.

Beth's friendliness and the way she and the staff look after guests really stand out. They chat, offer tips, and answer questions. The breakfast is excellent, and the rooms are spacious. It's a very simple inn, but the location is a big plus, just steps from the pier and restaurants.

We were up very early and didn't stay for breakfast. The inn is in a great spot for boarding a boat to Abrolhos. The rooms are basic but clean, with air conditioning and no TV, and both the bed and shower were good. Parking is on the street.
