Pousada Itaunas

The breakfast had plenty of choices and tasted great, and the private parking and pool were good too. Service was very good. The place feels cozy, though some of the furniture in the rooms is old. Room 116 had a broken bed, and they don't provide blankets.

The breakfast is simple but good, and with a little more attention and a few updates this inn could improve. The furniture is old, and the fan doesn't work very well or reverse. It feels a bit expensive for what's offered.

The two women working at breakfast were the only bright spot. They were friendly and polite. The rest of my one-night stay in Itaúnas was awful, from the service to the room, and I wouldn't recommend the inn or return. The room we got didn't look like the listing photos. Its walls were dirty, with black marks and signs of mold, and the old bathroom was poorly kept. There was no soap, floor cloth, or face towel, and the toilet paper holder was broken. The fan wouldn't start, so I asked Estalice for help. He offered another room with air conditioning, but it only had two beds for the three of us, so he said he'd bring a mattress for the floor. Later, Estalice came back and said rudely that the original fan worked, then insisted we move back. He was visibly annoyed while we switched rooms and snapped, “Hurry up and cross.” In the morning, we tried to explain what had happened to the owner, Júlio César, but he was aggressive and disrespectful instead of listening or trying to fix things. The trouble started at check-in, when Estalice at reception was unwelcoming and seemed unwilling to help.

I'm going to visit these areas. The food is rich, and the cultures are different from those in other regions.
