Pousada Serra da Irara

Hey.

The room and grounds fell short: the minibar wasn't working, the room wasn't clean, the blanket smelled bad, and outside there was long grass and little upkeep. I was staying at Hotel Fazenda Serra da Irara to rest after intense days at COP30, but the actual experience didn't match the peaceful, quiet place it claims to be. At first things went well. I enjoyed the pool despite a few insects, used the pool cleaner, and left the area nicer to enjoy. The snacks I ordered arrived on time and tasted good. Then some people turned up in team shirts with a speaker, which seemed odd for a place advertised as peaceful. Around 5 pm I went back to my room and showered. Soon a TV was playing at full volume in a shared area, so I shut the door and window to try to rest. Later, fireworks ended any hope of a quiet stay. There was no warning at check-in. If I'd known there would be so much activity, I would have chosen somewhere else. I'm very unhappy with the gap between what the place promises and what it actually offers.

The grounds are lovely, but the bathroom is in rough shape and needs renovating, and there's no air conditioning. There are only two attendants doing everything, including reception, rooms, and food. Bruno was very polite, but he couldn't keep up with all of it. The breakfast was poor, and guests were left on their own while things ran out. Staff were moving around without giving people much help. For a place like this, they need more staff and better support for guests. I had a bad stay and won't be back.

The internet was awful, and the room's veranda was dirty and covered in leaves, with no hammock. The place may be a farm, but that doesn't excuse poor upkeep. There were lots of cockroaches and big and small ants with stingers, along with other insects. They hadn't even removed the previous guest's used soap from the bathroom. The doors and ceiling probably need sealing, or something, but the place needs more care. Not worth it.
