The restaurant does a very good dinner and breakfast, and the service was great. It’s a lovely hotel, close to the beach, with the rooms arranged around a small pool.

Praia do Saco is quiet, with not much going on, so this is a good spot if you want to get away from it all. The lovely, friendly Pousada Mares has clean, comfortable rooms with balconies, good breakfasts, a nice pool and common areas, plus access to the beach and dunes. There’s not really anywhere else to eat unless you drive to Saco, though I think you can ask them to cook supper. They also have Chales, little houses down the road where you can cook for yourself. I really enjoyed the laid-back time there and the people running the pousada.
