Holiday Inn Express Farroupilha by IHG

Breakfast was delicious, with so many options I ended up trying a little of everything. We had a great stay at this easy-to-find hotel, and I'd recommend it to anyone visiting the vinhedos area. Bento Gonçalves, Caxias and Gramado are close by, making it a good overnight stop when traveling around the state. The staff were superb and helped with my request for a room my mother could use while in her wheelchair. The beds were comfortable, and both the room and bathroom were impeccably clean. There's free accessible parking and an elevator. My one suggestion is to add grab bars in the shower for disabled or older guests getting in and out.

This feels like a proper hotel by US standards, with a comforter, kettle, coffee machine and hair dryer. The Holiday Inn rooms I've seen in Brazil compare well with HN or ibis's European style, where there's no heat and no double low-E glazing by the highway to block traffic noise. During my visit it was 16 at night, and that noise was an issue. Getting help was tough because no one seemed to speak English, even at Holiday Inn, and several people had to call around.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, decent breakfast and good WiFi. It's a standard HIEX, just what you'd expect, with no surprises. What more do you need for 50 USD a night?

Gabriel made booking and check-in easy, and his English and communication were excellent. He was friendly and went out of his way to sort out my reservation. Wonderful service, thank you Gabriel!
