The room wasn't properly cleaned, and the cleaning overall left a lot to be desired. They advertise WiFi in all rooms, and there is a network, but the signal is so weak it doesn't work at all.

I returned after almost ten years and found the changes deeply disappointing. Quinta da Bica used to feel like a sanctuary in the middle of the city, but when I arrived nearly all the trees were gone. Worse, tree removal was still underway during my stay. I asked employees about it, and they were all discontented. They said, "The owner went crazy." I saw the elderly property owner myself, giving orders to cut down trees on the land. I believe what happened is a crime, since I saw no reason or project that justified removing them all. I heard someone say it was simply to get rid of the work of cleaning up fallen leaves.

If you need to visit UFSC (University of Santa Catarina), the location works very well. The room and breakfast were very good, and the garden was phenomenal. I’d avoid the restaurant, though: the food was bland and the service very slow.

The place is beautiful and well located, and the rooms are very nice. Mine was a bit dirty, though, and the hotel staff could have been friendlier.

The rooms are excellent, but the bathroom could use a few hooks for hanging clothes. Breakfast was good, though I did miss having ice in the juices.
