The walkway was under renovation, with exposed wires and holes in the path that seemed dangerous, especially for small children. The rooms were much smaller than we expected for the price, and the bathtub was dirty. The service was the bigger problem. Across our three days, several staff members were rude and unprofessional, including Cristiane, Carol, and Lydia. In my view, half the staff seemed untrained or unable to do their jobs, largely because the “general manager,” Raquel, wasn’t capable of managing the hotel. When I raised our unresolved complaints with her, she dismissed them and responded with more rudeness, disrespect, and mistreatment. That made us leave early, even though we had to pay a cancellation fee. In 44 years of travel across almost 50 countries, this was one of my worst experiences. I wouldn’t stay here if you want a nice vacation.

The Jacuzzis worked well, and the staff were accommodating. The downstairs pantry was convenient and fairly priced. Our room was okay, though it looked better in the pictures. There was a power outage just after we checked in while we were waiting for the elevator, so luckily we weren’t inside it. Power returned, but the main elevator stayed out for our whole stay, leaving us to use a smaller service elevator. We arrived late and ordered food through ifood because the restaurant was closing in five minutes. Staff couldn’t provide cutlery, either silverware or plasticware. It would be useful to keep a few kits at the front desk for situations like that.

I was there for a conference, and finding the room was difficult because there was very little signage. The event organization and sound system were both pretty poor. The white marble floor was extremely slippery when wet, and it was wet all the time because they kept cleaning during the event. Definitely not a five-star hotel.

The main area is huge and can hold more than 500 people. It’s a great spot for a graduation party in Florianopolis, with a good location, strong security, good service, and well-managed food and drinks. There were only a few bathroom lines, too. I wasn’t keen on the band, though maybe I just got unlucky with the music. Even so, 9/10!
