We were glad we stayed here. The staff were friendly, and there were lots of places to eat, seafood included. They also brought us items and amenities when we asked. One thing the rooms lacked was socket adapters, which visitors from other countries may need. It’d be good to have some available in the future.

The second room still had problems: mold on the bathroom walls and an uncomfortable bed. In the first room, there were broken tiles in the shower and dirty walls. Changing rooms didn’t fix the issues, and the overall maintenance at Mercure Fortaleza affected both comfort and guest safety. My experience there was poor.

Street noise was very noticeable even on the 8th floor. The room was small, the bathroom looked worn, and there was no hot water on the first day. It needs attention and a proper paint job, and the doors were dirty from years of people touching them. It’s an Ibis franchise, but I was disappointed. The building also seems to combine a hotel with private apartments.

The breakfast was fine, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The building and room are very old, though, with poor paint on the walls and doors, no maintenance, and a shower area that leaks. Mercure has definitely lowered its standards.

The bathroom was about the size of a wardrobe, and there was a strange smell in the room. Check-in took far too long.
