Raio de Sol Praia Hotel

The seaside is fabulous, and the surroundings are amazing. The café is cozy too, with great food.

Just average.

We arrived exhausted from our trip at 2:40 p.m., but the receptionist said the rooms were full and asked us to leave our bags at reception and go out. Check-in is at 2, and we pointed out that this shouldn't happen. If the situation were reversed, we'd have to pay a penalty. They eventually found us room 207. It had three single beds, but the TV wouldn't work: it stayed on the LG symbol with a black screen, so we couldn't watch anything. The electric shower only ran cold, which was very unpleasant, and there was no bathroom mat. We complained and were told one could only be brought the next day. They said they'd try to move us after hearing all this, but nothing changed the following day. The TV still didn't work. They did bring a mat, but there was no face towel, and we were told the hotel doesn't provide those. When we called about the ongoing problems, the attendant said another towel could only be provided the next day because room service ended at 4 p.m. We also asked to speak with Supervisor Felipe, but he'd already left. It was a really bad, even embarrassing experience for us as guests. We booked the package through CVC. Don't stay at this hotel. The service and quality are awful.

The beds are comfortable and the staff are very kind, but my experience in room 103 wasn't good. The electric shower was in very poor condition. Noise was the other big problem: the room has terrible sound insulation, so you hear everything, from people walking along the corridor to staff making a lot of noise there in the morning, and even sounds from the street.
