Hostel Cataratas

I haven’t stayed here, but I’m trying to get in touch. Is there any phone number? The information on Booking is very vague. It doesn’t say whether there’s a stove, and the photos only show a sink and a table in the kitchen.

The photos make the place look lovely, but be careful which room you rent. Ours smelled musty, and the bathroom was dirty, especially the toilet. It’s far from everything and from the center, in a really strange area. I don’t recommend it.

The facilities and prices were fantastic, much better than I expected for the cost. But we spent a lot on transport, a lot. We could easily have stayed in a 3-star place in the center if the extra cost for Ubers and similar rides made that worthwhile. Check the distance to the attractions you want to visit. Aside from that, it’s a great hostel.

I was told by phone that several rooms were available, so I waited for a few hours. Then William, the receptionist, wouldn’t even address me because he was going to earn money taking tourists around. He just said nothing was available, turned around and left. I’ve been trying to call the same number that confirmed the rooms, but nobody answers. Really disappointing behavior.
