Hostel Poesia

We paid ahead and flew all the way from Rio de Janeiro, only to arrive and find there was no room for us. Nobody apologized or offered help, and they refused to refund us, claiming it was Hostelworlds’ responsibility. They said they had asked Hostelworld to stop taking bookings, but never contacted us to warn us there were no beds. They didn’t seem to care at all. I wouldn’t support this business.

After our flight, we got there and were told by the very rude staff that there were no beds, even though we had booked. They made no effort to help. I heard the same thing had happened to a lot of people. Don’t come here, even if it’s the only place with beds available. Really bad experience.

They may not have a bed for you, and they won’t refund your money. The employees were terrible. Don’t stay here.

We’d booked and paid a deposit, but when we arrived at 8pm, the lights were off and nobody answered the door. We had to find a nearby restaurant with wifi to reach them. They said there was no electricity and told us to go somewhere else. They hadn’t warned us beforehand that they weren’t open, and weren’t friendly or apologetic.
