My mom and I stayed at Pousada Tirol in Gramado from 25/12 to 02/01, and it was wonderful from start to finish. Dona Elena, the owner, was especially caring and kind. She made us feel like we were visiting family, and the whole place had a warm, welcoming feel. Our room had a balcony looking out over the forest. Waking up to that view, with the sound of water and trees all around, felt like a real chance to rest. The pousada is in a very quiet neighborhood, which people we spoke with described as an upscale part of Gramado. It’s a simple place in the nicest sense: cozy, peaceful, and full of care. Breakfast was delicious, and everything was spotless, tidy, and fresh smelling. I’d gladly come back many times and recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful stay where you feel at ease.

We spent New Year’s Eve at the pousada, and it was a terrible experience. The next morning we found mold on the ham and little cakes at breakfast, which was the last straw. We lost confidence in eating there and left to find somewhere else, taking a big financial hit. The owner didn’t try to sort it out and told us to deal with someone else. In the end, she still charged us R$550 for the New Year’s Eve night. After everything that happened, that was unacceptable. The room and linens also needed urgent attention. The bedding was stained, the room needed paint and repairs, the door jammed, and the curtain had mold spots. The towels were old, stiff, dirty, and had hair on them. My friend asked for replacements, but the ones she got were just as bad. There was no hot water when I went to shower. My husband spoke to the owner, who had already heard another couple complain. She said the gas might have run out and stayed seated at first. She eventually dealt with it, but only after about two hours and after my husband asked again. We had just arrived from a trip and needed to shower and iron our clothes before going out. They were wrinkled from being packed in vacuum bags, and the delay disrupted our New Year’s Eve plans. I’d also asked whether the pousada had an iron so I could bring mine if needed. The owner said the day worker had lent theirs to someone who hadn’t returned it, and she didn’t know who had taken it. The disorganization and lack of effort were frustrating. The garage area also looked a bit abandoned, with dirt, overflowing trash, and some debris. The photos make the pousada look lovely, but it didn’t look that way in person.

The room itself was clean, but the balcony was dirty and its plastic chairs were poorly maintained. The setting was peaceful, though the place wasn’t very comfortable. Breakfast had little variety, and the same food was served over two days. Items were put away in the kitchen cupboards and brought out again the following day. If you only need somewhere to sleep and don’t care much about breakfast, it might work, but think it over. My wife and I stayed from 30/12/25 to 04/01/26. We wouldn’t come back or recommend the pousada.
