Pousada Vila da Neve

I was very disappointed by how the inn handled two bags of chocolate that disappeared when the room was cleaned. They were expensive, and when I complained, they said there was nothing they could do. I’d never stayed somewhere where cleaning staff could decide for guests what was trash and what wasn’t. Worse, nobody would take responsibility or reimburse us. I stayed for 6 days. The breakfast was fantastic, and it’s a great option if you have a car. I rented a room with a balcony, but it opens onto the parking lot, where spaces aren’t assigned, so it never stays open. It wasn’t worth it.

We had our honeymoon here, and I wouldn’t trade the stay for anything. The inn is beautiful, clean, and welcoming. Our room was immaculate, smelled fresh, and everything felt new and very well cared for. Housekeeping was excellent and paid attention to every detail. Breakfast had lots of choices, something for everyone, and everything was delicious. We’ll definitely be back!

The one bright spot was the reception staff. Everyone was courteous and attentive and gave us all the information we needed. I especially want to mention Michelle and Silvia, who we dealt with most, they helped us a lot. We booked through RCI after being told this was a high-end inn, and the price certainly was high-end. But it wasn’t what we’d been led to expect. It’s almost outside town, so we spent quite a bit on Uber and taxis. There’s no restaurant, just a breakfast area. The room was described as luxury, but looked like a basic room at best. Housekeeping was poor: they barely made the beds, didn’t change the bed linen once during our stay from November 11 to 17, and didn’t seem to sweep properly, as if they just pushed the dirt under the bed. Wi-Fi was awful, barely working in the room and very slow, and there was no cell signal around the inn. For what we paid, we could have stayed right downtown with a lot more comfort and convenience. I definitely wouldn’t stay here again, and hope they improve.

The breakfast was good, but I wouldn’t come back. This was terrible value for money, far too expensive for what they offer. The bathroom cabinet was rotten and falling apart, and the receptionists didn’t know how to solve problems. Power was out all night, from 5 p.m. until 6:30 a.m., and nobody helped. The room had no lights, TV, or air conditioning. The TV had a terrible picture and very few channels anyway. They charged the full price, with no discount. A product we hadn’t ordered also appeared on the bill.
