OYO Pousada Sol Nascente

The inn has a lot to improve. Breakfast was very poor, and the room where it was served was dark. The pool was dirty, and when I mentioned it to Reginaldo, he said it had been very windy but didn’t do anything about it. My wife and I swam in that dirty pool. When I got up the next day, Reginaldo was cleaning it because more guests had arrived, which left me a bit upset. The room could use a table and chairs. The air conditioner wasn’t cooling well either. I thought about mentioning it, but after nothing was done about the pool, I kept quiet and waited to go home. For the record, I paid everything in cash.

The place is pleasant, clean, comfortable, and easy to get to, with very good service and the best price in the area. The spacious outdoor grounds are tidy and green, with children’s toys, a nice pool, and a room that can be used as an auditorium or party hall, though that space needs work. Breakfast could be improved without much expense, since it might put some guests off coming back. I still plan to return because I liked the atmosphere, cleanliness, service, and price. On my second visit I got a room with moldy walls and quite a few insects in the shower stall. The bathroom was only reasonably clean. I think the little moths and mosquitoes may have come in because the bathroom window was open, and the room may have been vacant for a while. Even so, I still think the value for money is good, so I’m keeping my four stars.

The property is pleasant and surrounded by greenery, and breakfast was enough. But the pool was dirty, and the blankets in my room smelled bad, kind of sweaty. When I arrived in the early evening, the room was stuffy, so I left the air conditioner running while I went into town. When I came back, someone had gone into my room and turned it off using the button on the unit itself. My belongings were in there, and I really didn’t like someone entering while I was still staying there. That felt like an invasion of privacy.

The staff were helpful and polite, but the room was so dirty that I felt grossed out by breakfast. The blankets smelled awful, like they’d been used, and the towels were dusty. The bathroom was unusable and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned. The sink was filthy and coming away from the wall, the tiles in the shower were dirty, and the shower door had a buildup of slime more than an inch thick. Breakfast was fair, but after seeing that bathroom I didn’t want to eat.
