Hotel Doral Guarujá

We'd definitely recommend it and plan to come back. It's a very nice hotel in a quiet area, just across from Enseada beach. The restaurant has a beach view and very good food. Breakfast choices may be limited during the week in the off season, but everything is fresh and the staff are very helpful. Our room was clean and had air-conditioning, a mini fridge and toiletries. The pool was clean and heated, with towels and a bar. The beach bar also gives a 10% discount.

We enjoyed our stay, and the other staff were welcoming, helpful and provided good service. The cleaning staff and their manager, though, made for a terrible experience. Special thanks to Vitoria (Customer Service Manager) for helping defuse the situation with the cleaning manager and making the stay much better.

Hotel Doral's spot right in front of the beach is excellent and one of its biggest draws. A few things did make my stay worse, though. The bathroom has no windows, and its exhaust fan wasn't working, which was a real inconvenience. Getting on the hotel Wi-Fi was also difficult: without mobile data, you can't register to access it. That's especially troublesome for international visitors without local mobile service in Brazil. There's no laundry service either, a major drawback for a longer stay. I'd only consider coming back if these problems were fixed.

The quiet setting worked well, with the beach right across the way and interesting restaurants nearby, though downtown is a bit of a trek. The rooms were good, the internet worked well, and the friendly staff were courteous. Breakfast had plenty to choose from, including omelets, sausages, fresh fruit, and assorted cakes. The TV is small, but there are lots of channels. The pool was nice, though small and sometimes crowded. Checkout took a while because staff radioed someone to check whether anything from the room had been consumed.
