Pousada Canto dos Mares

I decided to take the trip at the last minute, and the hotel welcomed me so warmly ❤️. I’ll always remember this stay fondly since it was my son’s first time seeing the beach. I’ll definitely come back, and I’ve already recommended it to lots of people!

The room was nice, the staff were welcoming, and I liked the location. Everything was clean when we arrived, though I didn’t ask for the room to be cleaned during our stay. The afternoon coffee was a lovely touch, and I’m grateful to the people running the inn for what they did for us. I do wish there had been more trash bins, since we only had one. Hopefully the barbecue area will be open next time. In general, I enjoyed staying here.

The rooms were in awful shape. The sheets were yellowed and had strange dark stains, and the towels looked just as gross. We found someone else’s sunglasses on the floor, so it clearly hadn’t even been swept under the beds. The bathroom smelled bad and was grimy, as if it hadn’t seen bleach. Terrible place. I booked because it was cheaper, but that low price ended up costing us a lot. I hadn’t noticed that breakfast and parking weren’t included. By the time I realized, I couldn’t cancel, and hotels.com offered no refund. I was there with my mother and sister, my teenage son and my nephew. When my sister turned on the shower at check-in, it burned out and sent up black smoke. They tried replacing the heating element, but that wasn’t the problem. We had to use the bathroom outside the room because they couldn’t replace the shower until the next day. We put up with it, but the rest of the stay was miserable. Thank goodness we managed to get a night at Hotel Casa Branca on Enseada beach to make up for our days in Guarujá.

The pool was green and looked awful, even though it was Saturday. The rooms and furniture were very old too. I paid 340 reais for a night that was basically just somewhere to sleep. I booked through the app, then found out at check-in that breakfast wasn’t included and parking cost extra. I wouldn’t recommend this place. Even a low quality hostel would be better. I’m not coming back.
