The reception staff were attentive, and the room was comfortable. Breakfast was good, though it came a little late. I stayed downstairs near the pool, where I could hear conversations, so there wasn’t much privacy. What really fell short was the promised invoice. I’ve asked twice and still haven’t even had a reply. That felt disrespectful, especially since it’s our right as customers.

The inn seems pleasant and comfortable, and Guarujá is a beautiful area. But before booking, I check the inn’s pages and sites, including its Google reviews, which were surprisingly middling. The owner’s rude, unprofessional replies, with no apparent concern for guests’ experience, put me off. In 2026, guest experience is part of marketing. Structure, food, and reception all matter, and the way the owner responds made me lose interest in staying. It also left me wondering what kind of leadership the staff deal with internally. I’d suggest the owner reconsider how the brand is presented. If the inn is advertised as “beira-mar,” but there’s no sea view and it’s actually on the corner of the beach promenade, that should be made clear on every booking channel, including Booking. They should also reflect on being rude to guests and possibly employees. As far as I know, staff turnover is high because people can’t put up with the leadership.

I won’t book here again, and I can’t recommend it. Here’s what happened. I booked through the Booking app. At check-in, the receptionist asked me to cancel there and make the “reservation” directly with her. She promised a better room with three beds, as I’d requested on Booking, and said we could go in right away. Booking check-in would only have been at 2 p.m., and we’d arrived at 1. We agreed and canceled the app booking. She said booking directly would be cheaper, but charged us the same Booking price. It was for one night for three people. The next morning, she stopped us on our way to breakfast. I’d been sure breakfast was included, but she said we’d booked without it and wanted R$30 per person to let us eat. Maybe I did book without breakfast, but she was already making money from us after we took the reservation off Booking. She could at least have offered breakfast as a courtesy. And the room didn’t have the three beds from the original reservation.

Awful experience. Stay away from this inn! I booked on Booking for R$464 with my credit card, as I usually do. Right after I finished, an employee named Josi started calling and messaging repeatedly, demanding 50% by PIX and saying I’d lose the reservation otherwise. That’s absurd and against Booking’s policy. I’ve never had that happen anywhere else, and it made the trip stressful before it even began. I arrived and paid at the inn as I should have been able to do from the start. Around 11 p.m., when we came back, things got worse. The towels were torn, the bathroom was dirty, and the shower stopped giving water halfway through my shower. I was genuinely afraid it would burn out. My husband ran to ask what was going on, and the employee gave a nonsensical explanation about “the water pump.” The sink was disgusting too, with a hidden drain full of built-up dirt. Brushing my teeth there made me feel sick. Breakfast was okay, nothing special. There were a few things beyond the basics, like cut fruit, pão de queijo, and other simple items, and they replenished them. Just don’t expect much. I also had a small mishap. I washed my hands and some makeup residue came off, then got a little on the towel when I dried them. Nothing major. They charged R$55 to wash it. Charging me something was fair since I dirtied it, but R$55 seemed completely out of touch. I could buy about three new towels for that. Booking listed parking at R$25, but the inn wanted R$40. The information was completely inconsistent and there was no transparency. A lot of stress, little in the way of facilities, questionable hygiene, and poor service. You know the saying, “cheap ends up costing more”? That’s exactly this place. Guarujá has great places to stay. I made a bad choice, so take this as a warning and don’t make the same mistake. This inn has absolutely nothing good to offer.

The rooms were reasonable, and breakfast was extremely basic but enough. That’s about all the good I can say. The main issue was how guests are treated. The service policy felt close to abusive and disrespectful to customers. At checkout, I was hit with charges that seemed completely out of proportion and unjustified. They wanted more than R$50 for a face towel allegedly stained with makeup, even though laundry and upkeep of linens are part of running a lodging business. That towel probably didn’t even cost R$20. Charging more than the item itself seems abusive. They also asked for over R$150 for a mirror that cracked from thermal shock, supposedly due to the cold air conditioning combined with opening the door. It wasn’t deliberate, misuse, or intentional damage. To me, it was a natural and entirely foreseeable event that shouldn’t be pinned on the guest. The CDC bars businesses from shifting risks inherent to their economic activity onto consumers (article 14), and from making clearly excessive charges (article 39, V). There was no sensitivity or compensation when rain flooded one room and soaked a guest’s clothes. I had to lend a mattress from my room to help. The inn was reluctant to assist with moving it, and an employee eventually did so, visibly grumpy and against their will. The hassle continued after checkout. We’d been on the road for over an hour when they started calling insistently, claiming an air conditioner remote was missing and implying we’d taken it. That kind of check should happen when the room is handed back, not after it’s been vacated and accessed by other people. The calls were intrusive, upsetting, and offensive. I didn’t feel badly accommodated because of the room. I felt cheated because of the way the place behaved, as if guests are to blame for every structural or operational problem. I don’t know where I’ll spend my next vacation, but I know for sure I’ll never come back here. I’d rather not travel than set foot in this place again.
