Pousada Porto Paraíso

Breakfast was excellent, with a great selection of homemade breads and other things to enjoy. In the room there was a kettle with a range of teas and coffees, and plenty more available if we needed it. The room was comfortable, and the welcome on arrival was very friendly. Service stayed first rate throughout. There's also an honesty system for drinks, snacks and wine available 24/7. It was very useful, and it felt good to be trusted. Highly recommended.

Rogério, Osmar and Miriam were wonderful hosts and a fantastic family. The breakfast was a fantastic traditional Brazilian spread, and our room was great, with excellent air conditioning. Everything was spotless, and the hotel was beautiful. We also spent several lovely naps in the hammocks out front after walks back from the nearby beaches. Thanks so much for a perfect stay, everyone. We'll be back.

We were welcomed with great kindness and even invited to have breakfast while we waited for our room to be ready. The rooms were nice and clean, and breakfast was delicious. There were several kinds of cereal and fruit, but vegans should bring their own plant milk. The homemade doce de leite and yoghurt are must-tries. They took good care with hygiene during the pandemic, with hand gel, gloves and hygiene towels on every breakfast table. The pousada is tucked away from Guaruja's main bustle, in a safe, calm neighborhood a couple of hundred meters from Guaiuba and Tombo beaches. That's lovely for a quiet, relaxed break, though my wife found it a little stressful because restaurants nearby had few vegan dishes or proper vegan options. If you eat everything, there are nice restaurants close by. An Uber ride of 10-15 minutes gets you to central Guaruja for lots of cuisines and a busy nightlife. We had a wonderful time and will definitely return!
