Biergarten Hostel

There was no community feel, and the kitchen was poorly equipped and dirty. Reception was almost always unattended, apparently because the staff had a feud with the owner. The bathrooms were filthy, with pee beside the toilets, and there was usually no toilet paper, especially unpleasant when someone always seemed to have food poisoning. The rooms were old, and the air conditioning only worked from late at night until early morning. One night it didn’t work at all. Worst hostel and hotel experience I’ve had on my travels so far.

We arrived in high season and they’d forgotten our booking. Instead of the private room we’d reserved, they put us in a dorm and made no gesture to make up for it. The kitchen was disgusting, and the toilet was clogged most of the time. There was nowhere to relax, and the hostel has a strange layout. I could go on. I’d suggest finding another place to stay.

The bathrooms and rooms were dirty, and the atmosphere felt odd. I didn’t really enjoy the hostel, though it’s still fine if you need somewhere to stay for a few days.

People there were friendly, but the building and infrastructure are quite old. There was no running water for about 80% of my stay. They said that was an island issue, although the previous hostel I’d stayed at on the island had no water problems, even on the day I was here.
