Hostel Refugio

The staff were so friendly, and I loved the warm, welcoming atmosphere. For a hostel, this place is top tier. The rooms were clean, and the bathrooms were okay too.

The buildings look new and everything is very clean. There's plenty of space for your own things in the kitchen, which has all the amenities you need. The price is comparatively good for such an expensive area. Staff are very friendly and accommodating, and they reply quickly on WhatsApp. You can rent walking poles and get laundry done too. One of the nicest hostels we've stayed in during our 2 month trip.

It's a decent hostel, but there isn't much of a social scene. I took off 2 stars because there was no soap in the bathroom, which seems like a strange decision.

After nearly 7 years traveling around South America and often staying and working in budget hostels, I can count on one hand how many times I've had a breakfast like this. It really is the best backpackers' choice in town! The rooms are nice and clean, with big lockers and keys. Internet is good and available everywhere, the location is perfect, and the staff are helpful and trilingual. They even have a couple of very well-behaved cats. 10/10!
