It’s peaceful, safe, and undisturbed here, and the hostel is clean and charming, with a treehouse-in-the-jungle feel and curious cats wandering around. In October the sun comes up early, around 4-5 a.m., so keep the windows closed if you want to sleep. Be ready for a steep 15-minute uphill walk with large backpacks, and expect to sweat. Google Maps gave us good directions. The hostel may take 1-2 days to reply, even about transport, which made us nervous but was manageable. Our bed was a little snug for two, but we made it work. For hot water, if the shower seems cold, switch the top faucet setting.

A lovely little pousada at a good price, with simple, tasteful, clean rooms and a well-equipped kitchen. The garden by the river is lush, and the spot is quiet. The owner Klaus was friendly and helpful. I’d definitely return.

We found it a nice little Pousada, with friendly, helpful staff and a small but clean and tidy room. A couple of things to keep in mind: there’s no backup generator, so we had no power for 24 hours, and the walk from the ferry with backpacks takes around 15 minutes, mostly uphill. It didn’t bother us, but be warned. Breakfast was very simple.

Such a gorgeous setting for a hostel, probably the most beautiful I’ve seen. Highly recommend it. I only wish I could have stayed longer.
