Pousada Casa Grande

Right near the center of Abraao, and the service is especially good. They'll help with boat departure times and information about any trip you'd like to take on Ilha Grande. Agustin was particularly helpful.

The owners are very friendly, and I really enjoyed my three days at Casa Grande. The house is nicely restored and decorated, the garden is lovely, and it's well located. Thanks for the free coffee and bananas in the morning, and for the hiking and restaurant recommendations!

The location is just a short walk from the loud, busy part of town, so you can relax among the nature and still head out for food and drinks. Finding the pousada takes a little care: follow the main street to just before the bridge, where there's a Casa Grande sign. Go through the gate; when the road splits, pass the bicycle under the other accommodation's sign and take the right-hand path. That leads to this hidden paradise. Yayoi and Nilson were amazing hosts, and I had so many great chats with Yayoi in English and French. The garden is beautiful, with loads of trees, and breakfast always included fresh fruit from the garden and local bread. Every room has a mosquito net over the bed, which was a lifesaver for me. Wi-Fi is stronger near the breakfast area.

Joao Pedro was so welcoming and had lots of great recommendations. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, and you can have a really hot shower if you like. It's quiet, but still close to everything.
