We began our Brazil honeymoon at this beautiful posada on one of Ilha Grandas more exclusive beaches, and we were so glad we chose it. It’s small and intimate, with just three rooms for six guests, so it always felt peaceful and secluded. We slept better than we have in ages, with the sound of the waves and wind outside. We also met a lovely couple from Sao Palio, who introduced us to some Brazilian specialties. Karien, Riann, and their son Daniel are a warm, thoughtful family who clearly love hosting. From the moment we stepped off at their private dock, they made sure we had what we needed. They helped arrange boat trips and sometimes took guests out on their own boat. I appreciated that they listened to what people wanted to see instead of pushing their own preferred routes, and worked around the weather and sea conditions. The captain and his little dog first mate were a treat too. Our room was spotless and nicely presented. It was tidied up regularly without interrupting us or even making us notice. The staff helped keep the whole place relaxing. Food was a real highlight. Breakfast had a good range, with everything we needed and more; try the island eggs and pancakes. Dinner was on another level, with Riann cooking restaurant quality meals each evening, and it was included. He’s very talented.

Our room was really spacious, and the food was fresh, delicious, and served in just the right portions. We especially enjoyed every dinner, all cooked by Riann, who is an excellent chef. Karen was such a sweetheart, always kind and attentive. Daniel took us out on two boat trips with a local friend whose name I’m sorry to say I can’t remember. Their little beautiful dog came along too, and they made both days great. We went to Praia do Aventureiro, our favorite, and then Paradise Island. The whole staff took extra care of us, and the place felt very safe. This was the best accommodation we had in Brazil, and I’d absolutely recommend staying here.

This was one of our favorite places on our travels around Brazil. The location is beautiful, the room was great, and the hotel team were lovely. The food stood out most of all, easily the best we ate in Brazil. Staying here was a trip highlight. You should stay here if you’re going to Ilha Grande.

Looking for quiet, lovely views, and time in nature? Vila Pedra Mar is a special place. Karien and Riann made us feel like part of their family, helped arrange boat trips, and took care of transport to and from the hotel. They made our time there unforgettable. Thanks for everything, we hope to return one day!

We had our honeymoon in this paradise and it was fantastic. Riann is an incredible cook, he deserves a Michelin star! Karien is delightful and adorable, and gave us all the help and attention we needed. She, Riann, Daniel, and the crew were so kind and lovely.
