Joly was polite and kind on the first night, and the owner responded to the flooding by moving me to a larger room with a nice view. The room itself had what I needed for one night, and the fridge had complimentary water and juice. But there were more downsides than positives. The pool had too many leaves, and the hallway lights weren’t working, creating a real risk of falling, though I didn’t fall. My booking showed breakfast included, but I was told on arrival it wasn’t. At checkout, Joly’s husband was rude and tried to charge me an extra $40 because I left my luggage by the door for half an hour after noon. I hadn’t used the room that day and was running late from the restaurant. Joly had said I could leave my bags at reception before leaving the island, so the demand felt contradictory and unfair. He wouldn’t listen, and I left angry without paying the extra fee because I found it deceitful. I’m giving two stars only because Joly was courteous that first day. Otherwise, the receptionist’s attitude would have earned zero. I’m sorry, Joly, but there are more affordable options in the south of the island with breakfast included. I think the price should reflect the hotel’s current condition. The infrastructure looks like it may once have been amazing, but it also seems to have deteriorated. More investment would help, and the man at reception could use some common sense and learn better manners from you.

Each room is different, and the property has art pieces throughout, giving the hotel an eclectic style. We stayed a couple of nights and especially enjoyed the breakfast and the view over the city. It’s a charming place close to the center on a wonderful Brazilian island. Highly recommended!

The staff are friendly and everything is good, though quite old. Still, the rates seem very high for what’s offered.

I never actually made it to the hotel, but I want to share how unhappy I am. The attendant approached me with a strange Pix request, and it felt like a scam. I was already having trouble with HOTEIS.COM, which charged me almost 2,000 for three nights even after the deposit. When I called the hotel and spoke with ATENDENTE JUNIOR, he was rude and hostile when I asked about the Pix, and asked whether I knew how it worked. I’m 24, graduated, and work at an agency, and I’ve never been treated so badly in my life. I’d really wanted to stay there on my first trip because I’d fallen in love with the place. After that hostility, I’ll never set foot there. I sincerely hope they improve.
