Hostel Casa da Mangueira

Great!

I’d definitely come back. The breakfast area isn’t big, but there’s always fresh food and tasty choices, and the staff are friendly and helpful. On Friday afternoons and at weekends, they serve a welcome afternoon coffee. The cake with tea is worth trying. The pousada is on the south side of Ilha Bela, about a 15-minute walk from the center. The rooms have a TV, air conditioning, and a spacious bathroom with no bad smell. I didn’t use the pool because of the weather, but it looked clean. The area around it is pleasant, with hammocks. I would have liked a little more interaction from reception, such as letting us know about the cake or asking how our stay was and whether we wanted tips. When we contacted them, though, they were friendly and there were no problems. Worth a visit and a stay.

The garden around the pool is especially charming, with lots of flowers. We spent a weekend here in March 2019 and had a wonderful experience. The place is lovely, the staff are very courteous, and the service was great. It’s well located for enjoying the village at night and close to where the tours take place. Breakfast was tasty, and they let us check out later than usual. I recommend it and will certainly return. Congratulations to the whole team.

Everyone on the staff was attentive and treated us really well. The location is excellent, right beside the historic center, and the place itself is pleasant and cozy. Breakfast was plentiful, the rooms were comfortable, and both the air conditioning and showers were great.
