Pousada Doce Desejo

The bed linen was old, and the small room felt old too. It smelled bad. Breakfast and the restaurant choices were poor, and there was noise from bats at night. It's far from everything.

I ordered a serving of fish bites, but half of it was breaded fish and the other half was just fried flour. I'm not coming back.

The food was fantastic, and the prices were much lower than at other inns. The staff also treated me very well, from reception through the bar service. My room had a few problems: the outlets and switches didn’t work properly, and the minibar never got cold. It’s a long way from downtown, but the quiet setting is great if you’re looking to rest. I visited when there were lots of biting blackflies, though, so I couldn’t stay outside before 10 a.m. or after 6 p.m.

I stayed here in January 2025 and wouldn’t come back, even for free. It felt like a haunted place. The internet didn’t reach the rooms, the bathroom water was dark, and the shower barely ran. I also got a piece of cake at breakfast that had gone bad. This place needs an urgent renovation and a look at how it’s being managed.
