We were put in a cheaper hotel around a 40-minute walk from the place we had paid for, and left standing in the rain without an organized solution or clear account of what had happened. At check-in, the hostess didn’t answer us for three hours. Then she said a woman in the apartment “refused to leave,” a story that didn’t seem believable. We later realized two guests had been booked for the same apartment. The excuse and blame placed on the other guest didn’t make this seem like an innocent mistake, since the apartment simply wasn’t available and the story didn’t fit what we saw. This felt like an attempt to cover up the double booking instead of taking responsibility. Be very careful about booking here.

The apartment was smelly and rusty, and the noise was unbearable. You could hear every movement in the building, plus the neighbor’s goose, dogs, cats and roosters all the time. I arrived sick with a 39-degree fever, but the payment link she sent didn’t work. She wanted me to walk half an hour to pay her, which I couldn’t do. I waited outside for two hours before she came over to take payment by credit card. After all that, she raised the price to 408 reais for one night. I won’t come back. This place made me feel even sicker, and paying for it was a real shame.

The photos showed Pousada Vila Baiana, but that wasn’t where we stayed. We got a flat that didn’t feel like a flat at all. During our four nights, nobody came to change the towels or clean. The kitchen utensils were gross and old, there were only about three old pieces of cutlery, no cups, and nearly everything was broken. Even the tap came off when we touched it. We also had no TV, and nobody came to fix it. The service was awful. I don’t recommend it.

They moved us from the second floor to the ground floor, then to another ground-floor room, because we asked for a room downstairs or with just one flight of stairs due to a health issue. Every place they put us in was filthy. The cleaning was terrible, there was a bad smell from the entrance hallway, and the kitchen utensils were dirty. The TV didn’t work either. You can’t call that FLAT PAZ. Horrible service, disgusting place.
