Casa Frankie is clean and offers good value for its price. The backyard feels private, and the pool looks well cared for and unlikely to have hygiene issues, though I’ve seen clearer water at other pools. The central location is a real draw, with an atmosphere that feels like stepping 200 years into the past. If you like history and character, it’s a charming stay. I’d give the accommodation itself five stars. My one reservation is how the owner replies to negative reviews. A more respectful, diplomatic, welcoming response to criticism would leave a better impression and help future guests appreciate this distinctive place. It was a memorable stay in a property with plenty of character.

Right in the historic center of São Luís, the house is beautiful and roomy. The bedrooms were clean, the beds and pillows comfortable, the kitchen fully equipped, and the bathrooms huge and spotless. Many nearby places are closed or abandoned, which isn’t the accommodation’s fault. Still, finding somewhere to eat or drink on foot at night can be difficult.

The host and his family were so friendly and made us feel completely welcome. It’s a stunning hostel with an unusual touch, beautiful high-ceilinged rooms, and a huge pool. It’s in a great part of the city too.

We loved Casa Frankie’s patio, pool, and airy shared spaces. It’s a beautiful, spacious colonial house, and breakfast was excellent. Frank, a Dane, runs the place with his wife Patricia. He told me a lot about Sao Luis, the neighborhood, and its history. The location is very good, right in the center of the old city. Great hospitality, highly recommendable!

Frankie lives here with his family, and it was a nice chance to see them. He also arranged our transportation to barreirinhas. The place is calm, clean, and comfortable, with a nice design and decoration in the historic area, close to a music school. There’s a pool and a kitchen. We enjoyed our stay and I strongly recommend it.
