Casa de Vidro

The beaches are incredible, and I walked to several of them. I felt quite safe too, even late at night, and didn’t see any violence or insecurity. Itacaré is so beautiful! I hadn’t been back in nine years, and the waterfront has changed, been renovated, with lots of new places to discover. There was a Bahian footvolley tournament on the main beach near the house that I didn’t even know was happening. The beach has an incredible sunset, I even posted a photo here. I went in winter; even with a little rain in the morning, the days turned lovely, so I can imagine summer. The house is quite simple, in a small apartment building, like a well-organized aunt’s vacation place where nothing is missing. It’s decorated with pictures and some nice furniture. The air conditioning was fine, though since it was winter I preferred the fan. It’s in the central waterfront area: turn left for the surf beaches, right for Praia da Concha, the city’s main beach. Two streets ahead is the street with little shops and drinks, and there’s a small market nearby. It was easy to find my way around.

The person in charge was helpful, but the place itself was awful, dirty, and in a really noisy area with heavy traffic, loud music, and construction all around. We paid for eight days, but left on the fourth day and moved to another apartment, so we lost money. It was the worst property I’ve ever rented at a beach. We felt misled. I wouldn’t recommend it under any circumstances.
