ibis Navegantes Itajai

Carla Leal Lima welcomed me right at the entrance with a cheerful “Good morning” and “Welcome.” That kind of greeting makes a difference. I’m from the USA and really appreciate service like that. Please thank Carla for me, and she should be the full-time greeter.

The parking was reasonably priced for downtown Itajaí, and the valet was mostly courteous. We did wait 45 minutes to be served without any warning, though, and that could have been handled better. The hotel itself has a great downtown location and a modern feel as a new building, but some of the room items and finishes feel cheap and flimsy, like they could break easily. Still, for the low cost, it seems worth it. There are definitely worse places at the same price.

For a three-star place to sleep while exploring the city and nearby beaches, Ibis is easily the best choice in the area. The bed is really comfortable, and you can get around to see things nearby. There’s no pool or other attractions at Ibis, as far as I know. Beto Carrero is a beautiful, great park about 30 minutes away, and the beach is around 5 kilometers away. There’s a Mc Donalds, a subway, and drugstores across from the hotel, plus lots of restaurants about 5-6 blocks away in an area called "Vila Gastronômica". I always stay at Ibis.

I always really enjoy the breakfast buffet. There’s a good range of food with some healthy options, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Arays, who I remember as being of Cuban background, was especially dedicated and enthusiastic. Keep up the good work!
