We had one of our worst stays here, and I wouldn't recommend it for a family. I called ahead to book for two adults and a child, explained that we'd arrive late, and was quoted 300 reais for the couple plus 100 for the child. We got there around 10 p.m., exhausted from the trip, and the place didn't look like the photos. A man named Miguel came to attend to my husband holding a beer can and smelling strongly of beer. In another area, several men were drinking shirtless and using a lot of foul language. There was also a blond man holding a bottle of alcohol, though I don't know if he was a guest. It didn't feel suitable for a family or like what the place advertises. Our room didn't have enough towels. We asked Miguel for more, but he never brought them and kept drinking with the others. The blankets smelled musty, and the sheets were very wrinkled, as if they'd been taken off the line and put back on the bed. Breakfast was very simple: cold bread from the day before, mortadella and cheese that were dry and old, margarine full of crumbs, and cold milk and coffee. The food was left out on a table without any covering.

We booked for two people. At arrival, a man called Miguel, who said he was the owner, took us to the room. He smelled strongly of alcohol and cigarettes and seemed unsteady on his feet. He handed us the keys and a gate remote. The room was dirty and smelled musty. There was hair in the shower, the towels were stiff, and the bedding smelled bad. There's no real reception service: someone gives you the key, takes payment, then disappears. The 200 reais we were charged didn't match the stay. Breakfast was just as bad. The table was dirty, the cold cuts were black and old, and the bread was from the day before. The same man blew his nose in the sink used for breakfast. It felt completely disrespectful. We won't return, and I can't recommend the place, even for someone on a tight budget.

The location is convenient, close to the city center, but many other things fell short. The owner, Miguel, was often drinking and smoking, and spat near the guests. Breakfast was left haphazardly on the table, and there was even a cat on it. I couldn't tell whether it was meant to be breakfast or just a mess. They charged 180 reais a night, which felt far too expensive for the city. The apartment wasn't cleaned regularly, only when a woman came every three days. At that price, they could at least have changed the towels, or told guests there was no daily cleaning. I don't recommend staying here. There are more affordable places near Ivoti.

My father traveled from Caxias to Ivoti and stayed here. He really enjoyed it. He found the service great, and thought Mr. Miguel was a very kind person. The rooms were spacious, lovely, well equipped, and good value for money. He also liked the breakfast a lot. He's sure to come back many more times. God bless you all!

The owner was very friendly, but the room wasn't very clean, and its door wouldn't lock with the key. Breakfast could've been better.
