Pousada Canouan

Bitinguí beach is the best beach in Japaratinga, and this pousada is well placed for it. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the place feels organized, quiet, and family-friendly. The staff are helpful and polite, and breakfast is good. My husband, our son, and I loved the welcoming atmosphere. We'll definitely come back, and we've already recommended it to a few people!

Japaratinga was captivating and peaceful, with wonderful places and tours, and natural pools that weren't crowded even though I visited in high season. We loved everything about the pousada too. It's clean, well maintained, all new, and the staff are always lovely and helpful. Since it's a smaller place, the pool and breakfast don't get crowded. The beach right out front is great. At the pool they provide floats, towels, and a shower. Breakfast includes fruit, juice, water, cake, queijadinha, couscous, breads, and something new each day, plus tapioca, omelets, and eggs made to order. They even put out coffee in the afternoon for a little pick-me-up. We loved it all. A thousand out of ten!

The team was also a real strength: attentive, polite, and helpful with anything, making guests feel at home through genuine, personal hospitality. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and nicely decorated, with a lovely bed, quiet air conditioning, and spotless linens. The grounds are beautiful and lively, with thoughtful landscaping, a pool, and comfortable shared areas. It all feels calm and welcoming, a great setting to rest and recharge. From arrival to our final moments, everything felt carefully handled. Pousada Canouan is one of the best pousadas I've stayed in, delivering comfort, beauty, warm service, and a distinctive atmosphere. It exceeded expectations, and I'll definitely return. A place to remember fondly and recommend without hesitation.

The room and bathroom were spacious and clean, and the bedding and towels were excellent. Kessinha's gentle, capable service is a delight if you're after peace and rest while exploring the beaches around Japaratinga. We found the pousada through Carol, who works at Camboa restaurant nearby. That's another good tip for a nice fish and seafood lunch with live music. The one thing I wished for was a beachfront location, since people come to this region hoping to stay right on the sand.
